Brian formed Cascade in 2003. From 2000 to 2003 he worked for Precept Capital Management where he served as the controller of the management company and was responsible for all aspects of accounting for The Precept Fund. He was the controller of an e-commerce company from 1999 to 2000. Prior to that, he worked for the audit division of Arthur Andersen where he focused on the real estate and financial services industries. He was the senior in charge of audits ranging from small private equity funds to a multi-billion dollar real estate hedge fund. Brian earned his bachelors and masters degrees in accounting from The University of Texas at Austin in 1996.
Kelly has worked for Cascade since its inception and has 20+ years of hedge fund back office experience. Before joining Cascade in 2003, she was the Operations Manager with Precept Capital Management. Prior to Precept, she was with Richmont Investment Management for four years as an investment operations specialist, gaining extensive experience in portfolio accounting for hedge funds. In 1990, Kelly worked for CS First Boston and Lehman Brothers supporting clients of their High Net Worth Group. In 1987, Kelly began her financial career working in the banking industry in the private banking arena.
Nick works on portfolio accounting for Cascade. He is also a partner in a Texas CPA firm, Roossien and Reich, LLP, along with Mr. Reich. Nick is the Chief Compliance Officer and Chief Financial Officer of Precept Capital Management. Prior to joining Precept in 2006, he worked as an independent forensic accountant for five years. In that capacity, he worked for Receivers in SEC matters involving securities fraud and money laundering. Nick also worked for the United States Department of Justice and served as an expert witness. From 1998 to 2001, he was the Finance Manager for BroadbandNOW! Inc., a company that provided high-speed internet service over a nationwide network to properties in over 20 markets, where he was responsible for financial analysis and reporting. Nick was an auditor at KPMG, LLP from 1997 to 1999. Nick earned a Masters in Professional Accounting in 1997 and a BA in Economics in 1995 from the University of Texas at Austin.
